Scene Around Town: Shef Food + Wine Festival and Texas Women’s Foundation
As Society Editor for the Katy Trail Weekly I oversee the publication's Scene Around Town feature, which shines a spotlight on nonprofit and community events each week. In this week’s January 10 issue, I’m featuring scenes from T2D Concepts founders Chef Tiffany Derry and Tom Foley who recently hosted the inaugural Shef F+W Festival in Grand Prairie this past November. The star-studded lineup included some of the biggest names in food including Carla Hall, Kwame Onwuachi, Michael Voltaggio and more who came together to cook up delicious food and drive transformation in the culinary industry. Also featured were highlights from the 39th Annual Texas Women’s Foundation Luncheon where the Managing Editor of KERA’s "Think", Krys Boyd, moderated a conversation with Emmy Award-winning journalist, Ann Curry, raising nearly $750,000 to continue its important work of advancing the lives of girls, women and their families.
